Why the Current Trading System Needs a Revamp
When trading debuted, players were thrilled—until they ran into high trade token costs and restrictions on which cards could actually be traded. The feedback was swift and loud. Developer deNA quickly responded by distributing free tokens and promising future improvements. On March 13, they confirmed that trade tokens would eventually be phased out, but the full details remained under wraps—until now.
Leak Suggests Shinedust Will Replace Trade Tokens
According to Reddit user sylveon_eevee, the game’s next major trading update will introduce a new currency: Shinedust. Trade tokens will be completely removed and replaced with this new material. Players will be able to convert tokens into Shinedust at a rate of 1 token for 10 Shinedust, with options to trade up for bundles of 100 or even 1000—though the exact exchange rates for larger bundles haven’t been confirmed yet.
More Quality-of-Life Features Incoming
The leak also mentions that up to 60 trade tokens can be exchanged for 60 Hourglass packs, offering an alternative reward for players holding extra tokens.
