Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales Debuts Honedge Line & Shiny Rookidee
Trainers, gear up! Pokémon GO’s Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event is launching July 22–27, 2025. This global celebration—unlocked thanks to GO Fest efforts—brings the Kalos-region’s Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash into the game for the first time.
Event Bonuses & Shiny Boosts
During the celebration, you’ll get:
- 4× XP and 4× Stardust for each catch
- Higher chances to encounter Shiny Bagon, Beldum, and Shiny Unown U in raids
- Debut of Shiny Rookidee—with its evolutions now shiny-eligible too
New Pokémon & Raid Details
Honedge will appear in Tier 1 raids and be added to GO Battle League rewards starting at Rank 6 (post-event at Rank 16), favoring premium track rewards. You can evolve it into Doublade (25 candy) and Aegislash (100 candy).
Wild spawns will include Magnemite, Dratini, Aron, Bagon, Beldum, Ferroseed, Noibat, and Rookidee, with Axew and Goomy appearing occasionally.
Raid Lineup & Research
One-star raids feature Honedge and Unown U (Shiny-boosted), alongside Gible, Klink, and Deino. Three-star raids include Skarmory, Bisharp, Dragalge, and Turtonator with increased Shiny potential.
