Final Strike: GO Battle Week

Final Strike: GO Battle Week

From May 21 to May 27, 2025, Pokémon GO hosts the Final Strike: GO Battle Week event, concluding the "Might and Mastery" season. This event marks the debut of Urshifu, the Wushu Pokémon. Trainers can evolve Kubfu into Urshifu by setting it as their buddy and defeating 30 Dark-type Pokémon for the Single Strike Style or 30 Water-type Pokémon for the Rapid Strike Style in Raids or Max Battles. Event bonuses include double XP for winning Raid Battles and increased chances of encountering Shiny Meditite, Shiny Stunky, and Shiny Mareanie. Featured Pokémon such as Mankey, Seel, Galarian Zigzagoon, Meditite, Froakie, Deino, and Nickit appear more frequently in the wild. One-star raids feature Carvanha, Stunky, and Mareanie, while three-star raids include Lapras, Hisuian Samurott, and Bombirdier. Evolving certain Pokémon during the event grants exclusive moves: Primeape and Annihilape learn Rage Fist, Dewgong learns Ice Shard, Hydreigon learns Brutal Swing, Greninja learns Hydro Cannon, and Lapras caught during the event knows Ice Beam.

Trainers have access to a free Special Research segment, offering rewards like Mysterious Components, Kubfu Candy, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. This research is available to claim until June 2, 2025. Additionally, a paid Special Research titled "Fuzzy Fighter" is available for US$7.99, providing items such as an Incense, two Premium Battle Passes, a Star Piece, and an encounter with a Dynamax Kubfu. A separate paid Timed Research for US$1.99 offers rewards including two Premium Battle Passes, four Lucky Eggs, a Max Particle Pack, and encounters with Meditite, Stunky, and Mareanie. Event-themed Field Research tasks reward Trainers with encounters featuring Pokémon like Seel, Mankey, Carvanha, Galarian Zigzagoon, Froakie, Nickit, Mareanie, Stunky, Lapras, Hisuian Samurott, and Bombirdier. New avatar items, including Urshifu (Single Strike Style) and Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) poses, are introduced in the in-game shop and remain available after the event concludes.

Community Day Classic - Machop

Community Day Classic: Machop

On May 24, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time, a Community Day Classic will be held featuring Machop. It’ll be showing up more often in the wild, and shiny versions will be easier to find. Anyone who evolves a Machoke into Machamp during the event—or up until May 31 at 10 p.m.—will get a Machamp that knows the Charged Attack Payback.

A paid Special Research story will be offered for $1.99, which includes things like a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, and multiple Machop encounters (some with special backgrounds). These tickets can also be sent to friends, as long as the in-game friendship level is high enough. Timed Research will also be live for anyone who logs in during the event, with tasks that need to be wrapped up by May 31 at 10 p.m.

Bonuses during the event include triple Catch Stardust, three-hour Lures and Incense (not counting Daily Adventure Incense), and surprise snapshot encounters. PokéStop Showcases and themed Field Research will also be happening. Starting May 14, an Ultra Community Day Box with Rare Candies and a Research ticket will be sold through the Pokémon GO Web Store.
