Pokémon GO Event - Crown Clash

Crown Clash

From May 10 to 18, 2025, the Crown Clash event is taking place, featuring the debut of Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon. To evolve Bisharp into Kingambit, 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon must be defeated in Raid Battles while Bisharp is set as the buddy. Crown-wearing Nidoqueen and Nidoking are appearing in the wild and raids, with increased chances of encountering their Shiny forms. Other Pokémon like Slowpoke, Combee, Litleo, and Slakoth are also spawning more frequently, some with Shiny possibilities. Catching Slowpoke may yield a King's Rock. Event bonuses include double XP for evolving Pokémon.

A Collection Challenge titled "The Crowned" is available, rewarding a Pawniard encounter, 5,000 Stardust, 10,000 XP, and a guaranteed Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. Field Research tasks can be obtained by spinning PokéStops, offering encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Additionally, PokéStop Showcases are featuring event-themed Pokémon.

Pokémon GO Event - Crown Clash Taken Over

Crown Clash: Taken Over

From May 14 to 18, 2025, the "Crown Clash: Taken Over" event is being held, with Team GO Rocket making more appearances at PokéStops and in balloons. During this time, Shadow Pokémon can be made to forget the move Frustration using a Charged TM. Shadow Raids are featuring Pokémon like Shadow Magnemite, Cyndaquil, Murkrow, Spoink, Lapras, Piloswine, and Gurdurr, with some having a chance to be Shiny. Additionally, Shadow Slakoth, Inkay, Tyrunt, and Amaura are being used by Team GO Rocket Grunts and leaders. A Special Research is available, leading to a Super Rocket Radar to track down Giovanni and rescue Shadow Dialga. This research can be claimed until June 3, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Event-themed Field Research tasks are offering rewards like Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Mysterious Components. A paid Timed Research, available for $4.99, includes a Super Rocket Radar, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon such as crown-wearing Nidoqueen and Nidoking. This research must be completed by May 18, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time. PokéStop Showcases are also being held, featuring event-themed Pokémon. Additionally, Larvitar and Pawniard have been added to 10 km Eggs, replacing their previous availability in 12 km Eggs.

Pokémon GO - Shadow Regigigas Raid Day

Regigigas Shadow Raid Day

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, Shadow Regigigas will be featured in five-star Shadow Raids. During this event, trainers can use Remote Raid Passes, with the limit increased to 20 from Friday, May 16, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, May 17, at 8:00 p.m. PDT. Up to five additional free Raid Passes can be obtained by spinning Gym Photo Discs, and Regigigas caught during the event may have higher Attack, Defense, and HP. There's also an increased chance of encountering Shiny Regigigas.

A free Timed Research will be available, offering rewards such as 10,000 Stardust and additional Stardust for completing Raid Battles. For $4.99, an event ticket can be purchased, granting eight extra Raid Passes, increased chances of obtaining Rare Candy XL, 50% more XP from Raid Battles, and double Stardust from Raid Battles. These bonuses are effective during the event hours. Tickets can be gifted to friends with whom a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher has been achieved. Additionally, a Regigigas Shadow Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box, including the event ticket and a bonus Premium Battle Pass, will be available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for $4.99.

Pokémon GO - Classic Community Day: Machop

Community Day Classic: Machop

On May 24, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time, a Community Day Classic will be held featuring Machop. It’ll be showing up more often in the wild, and shiny versions will be easier to find. Anyone who evolves a Machoke into Machamp during the event—or up until May 31 at 10 p.m.—will get a Machamp that knows the Charged Attack Payback.

A paid Special Research story will be offered for $1.99, which includes things like a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, and multiple Machop encounters (some with special backgrounds). These tickets can also be sent to friends, as long as the in-game friendship level is high enough. Timed Research will also be live for anyone who logs in during the event, with tasks that need to be wrapped up by May 31 at 10 p.m.

Bonuses during the event include triple Catch Stardust, three-hour Lures and Incense (not counting Daily Adventure Incense), and surprise snapshot encounters. PokéStop Showcases and themed Field Research will also be happening. Starting May 14, an Ultra Community Day Box with Rare Candies and a Research ticket will be sold through the Pokémon GO Web Store.

Pokémon GO - Gigantamax Machamp Raid Day

Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Gigantamax Machamp will be featured in Max Battles. During this event, all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles, refreshing more frequently, and offering 8× Max Particles. The Max Particle collection limit will be increased to 1,600, and two additional Special Trades will be available. From 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, 2× Max Particles can be collected from exploring, and the adventuring distance to receive Max Particles will be reduced to 1/4.

A Timed Research will be active from May 19 at 6:00 p.m. to May 25 at 5:00 p.m. local time, offering an encounter with Dynamax Beldum, along with Candy and Max Particles. If lucky, a Shiny Beldum may be encountered. This research must be completed and rewards claimed before May 25 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

An event-exclusive Timed Research ticket will be available for US$4.99 (or equivalent local pricing), granting access to a Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, 2× XP from Max Battles, and increasing the Max Particle collection limit to 5,600. This Timed Research will be effective on May 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Tickets can be purchased and gifted to friends with whom a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher has been achieved. Purchases are non-refundable and cannot be made with PokéCoins. Tickets will be available in the in-game shop until May 25 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Growing Up

From May 2 to May 7, 2025, Pokémon GO hosted the "Growing Up" event, celebrating Pokémon evolution and growth. During this period, trainers enjoyed boosted odds of encountering Shiny Magikarp, Swablu, and Wimpod, as well as increased chances to hatch Shiny Wimpod from 2 km Eggs. Additionally, XXS and XXL Pokémon appeared more frequently in the wild. Event bonuses included 2× XP for evolving Pokémon and 2× Candy from hatching Eggs. A hatch-focused Collection Challenge rewarded players with XP, Stardust, and an encounter with Tandemaus. PokéStop Showcases featured event-themed Pokémon, adding to the festive atmosphere.

For $4.99, trainers could access a paid Timed Research that offered an Incubator, 15 Pinap Berries, 3,000 Stardust, encounters with Pokémon like Lucario and Tandemaus, and an event-themed avatar pose. The Growing Up Ultra Ticket Box, priced at $4.99, included the event ticket and a bonus Incubator. In Japan and Korea, regional bonuses were available, featuring Timed Research tasks, 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon, and a 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs were placed in Incubators during the event period.

Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend

On May 10–11, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, Dynamax Suicune debuted in five-star Max Battles in Pokémon GO. Trainers had a chance to encounter a Shiny version of this powerful Water-type Pokémon during the event.

Event bonuses included an increased Max Particle collection limit of 1,600, a 1/4 adventuring distance to receive Max Particles, more frequent Power Spot refreshes, and 8× Max Particles from Power Spots. Additionally, from May 5 to 11, the cost to unlock and power up Max Moves was reduced by 3/4. A free Timed Research was available, offering a Dynamax Grookey encounter, Grookey Candy, Max Particles, and more to help power up battle teams. 

May 2025 Community Day: Pawmi

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, Pawmi was featured in Pokémon GO's Community Day. During this event, Pawmi appeared more frequently in the wild, with increased chances of encountering its Shiny form. Evolving Pawmo into Pawmot during the event—or up to May 18 at 10:00 p.m.—granted a Pawmot with the Charged Attack Brick Break. A Special Research story was available for $1.99, offering rewards like Pawmi encounters with special backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, and Rare Candy XL. Additionally, Timed Research tasks were provided to trainers who logged in during the event, granting an encounter with a Pawmi that had a special background and an increased chance of being Shiny. These tasks needed to be completed by May 18 at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Event bonuses included a reduced Egg Hatch Distance (1/4) when Eggs were placed in Incubators during the event, double Candy for catching Pokémon, and a doubled chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catches. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event lasted for three hours, and one extra Special Trade was allowed, with trade Stardust costs cut in half. Themed Field Research offered more Pawmi, Stardust, and items.
