Summary: Trainers will soon be able to join Shadow Raids and Max Battles remotely using Remote Raid Passes, with increased participation limits.
Remote Shadow Raids and Max Battles are coming soon to Pokémon GO, letting Trainers participate remotely with Remote Raid Passes.
Starting May 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. PDT, Trainers will be able to join Shadow Raids remotely using a Remote Raid Pass. This is part of the Crown Clash: Taken Over event and will continue even after the event ends. Shadow Raids will count toward the daily Remote Raid limit, so you'll still have some room for more.
Remote Raid Limits
As of May 13, 2025, the daily Remote Raid limit will be raised from five to ten. And this limit could go even higher during special events, giving Trainers more chances to jump into raids.
Max Battles
Beginning May 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. PDT, Trainers will be able to participate in Max Battles remotely with Remote Raid Passes and Max Particles. This change will stay in effect after the event. Trainers joining Max Battles in person will earn more Premier Balls and XP than before. Plus, the Max Particles cap will increase from 1,000 to 1,500, with the potential for further increases during special events.
Remote Raid Pass Bundle
A Remote Raid Pass bundle will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store for $2.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency). The bundle includes two Remote Raid Passes, so you’ll be ready for action.
